When I decided to make some shorts, immediately eyelet came to mind for the pockets. Of course, eyelet is pretty sheer and no tween in her right mind would dare show her undies so I knew I had to tackle that issue. I backed the eyelet with a simple white broadcloth to fix that problem. I also decided it was high time to use this HUGE stack of khakis I have been hoarding. Every time my scientist hubby ruins a pair with a chemical hole, pen mark, or ratty heals, I fold them up and put them in "the pile." I envisioned the eyelet would look beautiful with the khaki. Thank goodness my vision turned out like I thought because every artist knows that does not always happen.
